I just saw a news report on this that treated it as if it was some cute little human interest story. Poor formerly super cute bear that attracted millions of zoo visitors, has grown too big, and due to the economy cannot afford to be fed, housed, given a mate, etc...
Makes my blood boil a bit. It's bad enough that the wild animal population is dwindling on our earth, the least we can do is take care of the ones we're holding captive for entertainment and money-making purposes!
